Life Lesson learned at Monster University

Both Disney and Pixar have a knack for cramming meaningful moments into beautiful animated packages and delivering valuable life lessons in such a subtle way. It’s a big part of what makes these films so powerful and poignant.

Monsters University it’s funnier, the story entertains children and adults, personally it took me back to my college years and remind me of how much fun I had

In honor of the new film Monsters University, here are several life lessons that we can learn from monsters:

“You’re the best and don’t let anyone tell you different” ~ Mike Wazowski
Mike , the one eye little cute monster is a character who refuses to believe anyone who tells him he doesn’t have what it takes to do the one thing he really wants to do. it’s so important to teach our children to be themselves and who they want to be and don’t let criticism discourage them.

Reading lyrics from the theme song:
“You’ve got a friend in me
You’ve got a friend in me
If you’ve got troubles, I’ve got ’em too
There isn’t anything I wouldn’t do for you
We stick together and can see it through
Cause you’ve got a friend in me
You’ve got a friend in me”
You should always have your friend’s back, no matter what. When Mike needs help in Monsters University, Sulley is there to risk everything for him. True friends will always have your back and you should always have theirs.

“when one door closes, another one opens,”
In life, we so often look so long and regretfully upon the closed door, that we do not see the ones which open for us. Mike and Sully teach us to stop regretting mistakes and failures done in the past, instead, working positively on opportunities lies in front.

“You never know what you are capable of unless you try”
can you imagine entering a prestigious university and end up joining group full of losers ? Oozma Kappa of Monsters University may seem like a ragtag team of misfits, but they all have gifts that make them special. Everyone has some kind of capability that can be tapped into and allowed to let flourish.

Be Unique
Look at all the Monsters, Each one of them is unique in their own way and each one celebrates their differences. Don’t be afraid to be yourself, be true to who you are, always.

Persistance and Creative Thinking open up solution
Mike Wazowski is probably not the top scarer in the university but he is persistance and …creative ! Creative thinking can be a game changer and a life saver. In life you must always be ready to find answers to those bumps in the road, even if they may not be conventional.

Find Your Own Path
You may have inherited a lofty family name that you have to live up to (it turns out Sulley’s dad was a famous scarer), or you may not have what it takes to become your dream (you have to admit it, Mike Wazowski is not at all scary and he wanted nothing more than to become a scarer). Sometimes you just have to forget the path you think has been laid out for you and follow your own.

In summary, this movie is about to discover who you are, and what it’s going to take to become who you want to be.
